I've entered the Garburn run again this year - I'm a glutton for punishment

This year its on the 31st May - which is a Saturday for a change - and there's a new course too.  The downside of the new course is that its a bit longer than last year's 21k at a rather daunting 24k. Rather than starting in Staveley and finishing at Windermere, this year the course starts and finishes in Staveley - which I was hoping meant a nice gentle run down to  the end of the course - unfortunately I just checked out the website, and there is a last killer hill before the final descent into Staveley.  <Gulp>

Luckily for me, I'm off to Wales next week on holiday, and there's a handy hill with a easy to find footpath behind the cottage we're staying in, so I may have a couple of jogs up and down to see how that feels. Bloody painful is what I'm guessing right now, but we'll see .  At least I'll be able to check out my progress using my Garmin.
